On stands now, the August issue of Juxtapoz magazine includes a 14 page feature with photos and an interview with Craig Costello discussing graffiti and street art in SF during the early 90's.
San Francisco in the early 90's was a pivotal place in the global rise of street art. Costello captured many artists writing and drawing in the streets, from underground tunnels to city rooftops. This is a rare insider's view into the world of San Francisco's graffiti and street art scene that would eventually inspire young artists from Brazil to New York and Europe.
Costello's photographs from the early 90's have only recently been unveiled in the Art in The Streets exhibition at the LA MOCA. This is the first publication in a magazine with an accompanying interview.
